Monterey Park, California is located in the western San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles, County. This city is 7 miles east from DownTown Los Angeles Civic Center.

Monterey Park has a strategic location. The city is surrounded by three major freeways, the San Bernardino (Interstate 10), Long Beach (Interstate 710) and Pomona (State Route60), and is adjacent to the Amtrak Station and the Santa Ana Freeway (Interstate 5). These routes provide access to all of metropolitan Los Angeles, as well as other major markets in California and neighboring states.

Monterey Park is home for good Asian and Hispanic restaurants, medical hospitals and facilities, high-ranked educational schools, and the nest for Asian tourists looking for hotels and tours for all Southern California main attractions. Other places of interest are the Garvey Ranch Observatory, the East Los Angeles College, and the Jardin El Encanto.

According to the 2010 Census, the city had a total population of over 60,000 people and is considered as one of the country’s best places to live due to its good schools, growing economy, and central location.

Housing Market Analysis

In the last 12 months, the house median prices vary from $645K to $950K, while the condo/townhouses median prices vary from $470K to $633K. The attached graph will show you the median price evolution in the last 13 months.

In 2019, the median price was $705K for houses and $560K for Condos and Townhouses. In 2019, the houses sold prices vary from $440K to $1.8M; In the same period, the condo/townhouses sold price vary from $219K to $1.16M.
